About UsLismore & District Women's Health Centre Inc. is a community based organisation that has existed for over 20 years to provide health services for women and girls from a feminist framework. Currently we offer generalist counselling, lesbian counselling, naturopathic treatments, services from the women’s health nurse, the Northern Rivers Eating Disorders Service, and the Young Women’s Project, as well as advocacy, referrals, groups, support and information. The women at the centre work very hard to provide the health needs of the Lismore and district community. The centre works in partnership with other services when possible. For example, Northern Rivers ACON gives the centre funds to provide the Lesbian Counselling Service at the Lismore and District Women's Health Centre. The Council of Women are the governance body of the centre. They meet throughout the year to ensure the centre fulfils its legal obligations and meets its strategic directions. This body is made up of community volunteers and new members are elected once a year at the Annual General Meeting. Currently the centre receives grants that are administered by North Coast Area Health Service and Area Assistance Scheme. The centre opportunistically seeks other grants as they arise. Our peak body is Women's Health NSW. Please view our Strategic Plan 2009 - 2012 (1.24MB pdf) Please view our Annual Reports: Annual Report 2007 (145KB pdf)
