Women’s Health Nurse Info Sheet

The Women’s Health Nurse is available for specialist advice. Our Women’s Health Nurse has expertise in sexual and reproductive health and Women’s health nursing.

She is available for appointments with women, either face-to-face or by telephone. In particular, if dealing with an unplanned pregnancy, women can have counselling, discuss their options and get help with arranging a termination of pregnancy when needed.

Other issues advice can be provided about include:

  • contraceptive choices
  • antenatal and postnatal care
  • fertility information
  • post abortion care
  • breast health and breast examination
  • sexual health, sexuality
  • menopause and osteoporosis information.

Our Women’s Health Nurse can also provide in-house or outreach health education and health promotion sessions and small group work, plus information about and referrals to other services as needed.

Appointments for cervical screening are also available with a Women’s Health Nurse. Cervical screening appointments on Mondays once a month and are provided through our partnership with the Northern NSW Local Health District Community Health service.
